Let’s Go!

Welcome. This space is for our whānau, the people we love; the folks who want to follow along a little more closely as things unfold for our family.

We just submitted our application for our resident visa. That feels big enough to say twice. It’s a strange mix of relief, momentum, and that quiet “oh, this is really happening” feeling. There’s still a lot of uncertainty ahead, but this was a real step.

The plan for this blog is pretty simple. Some posts will be public, just general updates and things I’m comfortable leaving out in the open. Others will be private and password protected; those are the more personal updates, the day to day, the stuff that feels like it belongs with our people. When a private post goes up, you’ll get the link and the password automatically.

Notifications should be easy. If you’re on the list, you’ll get an email whenever something new is posted, and some of you will get a text as well. The idea is that you don’t have to remember to check anything; it’ll just show up.

If you want to comment, you can create an account. That keeps things a little more controlled and lets me know who’s actually talking. And if you’re someone we trust with a bit more access, we can even open it up so you can post too; photos, updates, whatever you want to share back.

Mostly, though, this is just a place to keep the thread connected. We’re about to do something big and a little wild, and it matters to me that the people who care about us have a window into it.
